This is something from another industry, but I always feel we can learn from outside of our own. I think this is such a great concept that some of our local independent coffee shops did in Boston. To work with your competition is definitely raising the bar.
My Mom sent me a link to an article, always looking out for us, about real estate technology and being mobile. Something cool about this article was that our very own Linda Davis was the author of it for ScanSnap :) Great job Linda!!
If you are not using Google Sites, I highly recommend them!! We have created our company Intranet using Sites and it is AWESOME!! All of our forms (using Google Drive), presentations (.key, .ppt, .pdg, .doc), agent handbook broken down and searchable, policies & procedures, order/request forms using google forms (order business cards, photo shoot, show sheets etc), brand guidelines, company calendar, news and announcements in a blog format and how-to videos all at the fingertips of the agents 24/7. No more emailing back and forth. It's all there. We also just started using them for single property sites. Check out 6highland.info. This is our test subject. We took the sites.google.com/a/unitboston.com/6highland address and changed it to http://6highland.unitboston.com/ for a little google juice and then forwarded 6highland.info to it. Very Cool tool!! Love Sites!!
I'm sitting here watching Erik create letterhead for our company in different formats making sure it will be perfect no matter which platform you are on. Since we are a virtual company we want to make sure our agents have everything they need while in the field and it is the attention to detail we, as a brokerage, feel is very important. So, Word, Pages and Google Docs will each have our letterhead on its platform and it will all look the same - not an easy task. This is just one small example of how we are Raising the Bar at the brokerage level. Leading by example.... Would you agree that Raising the Bar starts at the brokerage level?
We are going to have a link in the letter that is mailed along with it so they can view it on our website, but I wanted to be able to send something that was a physical interaction that they could just pop into their computer and view it. Not to mention that it would have my logo on a reusable item for all to see.
Glenn are you asking about more of a back end management platform? I have been talking to Back Agent and they are probably the way I will go when I open my brokerage. Once my agents are done with their transaction in Cartavi or DotLoop they will then upload to Back Agent to be paid rom the brokerage. I think they will soon be integrating with DotLoop and also a financial accounting company for keeping track of splits etc. They seem to always be enhancing, which I really like!
