I think if you are associated with a "Name Brand" it gives you more credibility than something no one ever heard of. I know a RE/MAX agent who says the name increased his business so much, he wouldn't go to an office with zero fees even.
I will note, some agents who have gotten a license to sell real estate are often no better than a hair dresser who got their license to do hair. Go to any $7 hair cut joint and it will prove my point.
