I only use Klout right now and I do pay attention to it. I think it accurately measures influence and they are have a great business model.
I see influence tools like Klout being used by companies to target advocates and evangelists to test and champion their products. Klout Perks is a great program. Still in it's infancy, I think this type of tool will play more of a role in how businesses market themselves themselves in the future.
Your good friend Mari Smith will also point out that if you want to be an influencer, you need to seek out and connect with other influencers. Klout is a great tool for this.
Chrome has an extension that will show a persons Klout score in their stream (on native twitter site). I find this extremely helpful when determining who to follow back and whether or not i'm being twitter spammed.
